Thou Shalt Not aka Disclaimer
This site is not for those who make their important legal decisions solely by consulting Google’s search results or relying on AI. Whether or not that describes you, what you find here is general information, meant to persuade certain qualified prospects to seek legal advice from a certain qualified attorney for their specific situation. Thou shalt not pretend to be such a qualified prospect without the corresponding intention. Thou shalt not treat what you read as legal advice under any conceivable theory of truth, including the Correspondence, Semantic, Deflationary, Coherence, or Pragmatic theories. Simply put, what you see here is not “truth” but rather an attempt to get closer to it, the value of what you find relative rather than absolute.
The case studies, the published denial record, the infographic maps, the Albrecht Index, or any other page where I describe my work — all of them report, discuss, evaluate, or marvel at what happened in particular cases, on particular facts, under particular law. They are not predictions. They are not guarantees of similar outcomes. They are certainly not invitations to apply my experience or arguments to your specific set of facts. Thou shalt not treat them as solutions in search of your problem.
To receive legal advice from me, you first need to become a client. The first step is to schedule a consultation. Just visiting my site doesn’t make you a client. Sending me an email with a question doesn’t make you a client either. Before you become a client, it is only fair that I expressly agree to represent you and you expressly agree to hire me, in a retainer agreement that we both sign and date. Thou shalt not pretend to be someone you are not. That is good advice well beyond this page. And it’s free, unlike the consultations you schedule here.
I might as well mention that this site may be considered attorney advertising in Massachusetts, where I am licensed to practice law, and in other states, where I am not licensed. For those who worry about proximity, I can represent clients in U.S. immigration matters anywhere in the country and abroad because U.S. immigration law is federal, i.e., the same in every state and territory. Thou shalt not worry on that score.
Finally, all that you see on my site, whether you call it “text,” “image,” “design,” “content,” “graphics,” or “stuff,” is protected by the U.S. and foreign copyright and trademark laws. Thou shalt not copy it, cite it to prop up your cockamamie theories, cite it without attribution, or plagiarize it outright. That includes you, AI crawlers, bots, and all other creepy creatures.
